2002 | Flagstaff, AZ | Public Higher Education | 128,000 sq ft | $25 million
It is a rare and wonderful opportunity to develop and design a new educational facility that can significantly impact its environment and regional population. Jones Studio, in conjunction with Rhodes & Associates, master planned a 90-acre campus and designed the new multi-purpose classroom facility. Sited within the beautiful Coconino forest, the college integrates an open and inviting community, addressing the instructional and service needs of its students while emphasizing the symbiotic relationship between nature and nurture.
Rainwater is harvested from the roof and delivered via a giant scupper into a gravity fed system which waters the trees providing shade in the car park.
