Arizona State University selected Jones Studio to design a state of the art research laboratory on their expanding Polytechnic Campus. Adaptable and versatile, the facility’s wet and dry labs and clean room were designed to handle a variety of research from four ASU departments including the renowned Biodesign Institute. In order to promote cross disciplinary interaction between researchers, laboratories are organized around interior gardens and circulation paths are shared. A 10,000 gallon water harvesting tank collects precious building water to supplement the gardens. ISTB III was the first building on ASU’s Polytechnic Campus to achieve LEED Gold Certification.
